ChicoBag
Raise your hand if you have ever gone into the pharmacy for one thing, and walked out with ten? If so, our guess is that you used a plastic bag as well. In an effort to stop single use plastic bags, we came across a company with the same goal…ChicoBags.
ChicoBag claims on its site that “the average American uses between 300 and 700 plastic bags per year”. Quite frankly, that’s a lot of wasted plastic…and it’s harmful not only for the environment but animals as well.
ChicoBags are reusable bags (some are even made of recycled plastic bottles) that come in a mini zip cord bag. When you are ready to use it, you pull the bag out of the zip cord pouch, flip it inside out so that the ChicoBag logo is on the outside, and you are ready to check out. When finished you simply flip it inside out, so the zip cord pouch is on the outside and insert the bulk of the bag back into the pouch. When the bag is in the zip pouch it is only about 2 x 4 inches and weighs virtually nothing. This is one easy solution to wasting plastic bags, as you can fit it in any handbag for anytime use.
They come in four unique styles: the Original, Vita, rePETE, and Limited Editions. Each style comes in an array of colors to choose from, so you can keep your originality while being green.
