I wrote this poem to extol the virtues of Best Buy and their recycle program.

An effort to recycle

Is a worthy endeavor

Drive on down to Best Buy

With a friend or whomever

Best Buy will take your treasures

Appliances and more

To reduce the world’s pollution

Drop your cartridge by the door

AAA

To keep your planet healthy

Try reducing your e-waste

No matter what the brand is

Deliver there in haste

Now we’re talking electronics

Cords and cell phones too

Printers and computers

Believe me it’s all true!

Recycling almost all things

Regardless of the age

Greener now is Best Buy

And e-cycle is the rage!

Staples Bagasse Based Notebook

Wasting paper is an eco-friendly no-no, however, there are times when a girl just needs to write things down. This is when deciding what kind of paper to buy comes into play. Recycled paper is always a better choice than regular paper, but what about if paper was made from the waste of another product?

Bagasse based paper is a great solution, and it’s being sold at Staples. These eco-friendly notebooks are comprised of 80% bagasse, which is the remnant of sugarcane once it is pressed to make sugar. This green option saves Staples about 1.6 million trees per year. This is the equivalent of 5,000 acres of forestry.

An added benefit is that these notebooks don’t use regular dyes, but instead use vegetable and water based ink. This is a sustainable option for those times when you have to put your pen to paper.
